For wood furniture, we use high-grade hardwoods known for their strength and beauty – for example, teak and Sheesham (Indian rosewood) for their rich grain and durability, or oak and walnut for their timeless appeal. We also work with metals (like wrought iron or steel for bases and frames) and quality glass or marble for table tops. Hardware such as handles, knobs, and hinges are sourced in solid brass or stainless steel so they last long and operate smoothly. We prioritize wood and raw materials from sustainable sources. Whenever possible, we use FSC-certified timber (from responsibly managed forests) or reclaimed wood recovered from old structures. By doing so, we reduce the demand for new logging and give new life to beautiful older wood with history and character. We also source locally available materials to cut down on transportation impact.
2. Eco-Friendly Materials
In addition to wood, we explore materials like bamboo (a rapidly renewable resource) and recycled metals or glass for accents. For upholstered pieces, we can offer natural and organic fabric options (like cotton, jute, or hemp) and stuffing made from natural latex or coconut coir – great alternatives to synthetic foam. These materials are chosen for being kinder to the environment and healthier for our clients (low toxins, hypoallergenic).
3. Low-VOC Finishes:
The finishes and adhesives we use are low-VOC or zero-VOC, meaning they emit minimal harmful fumes.
